MBM was founded in 1999  to provide state-of-the-art technology solutions in association with global technology majors. In the last 21 years since its inception, MBM has provided Imaging, Printing, and Storage solutions to a large number of Indian and multinational corporations, some of whom are Fortune 500 companies.
 
They are also one of our clients at FlexiBees, having hired a part-time and remote-working sales professional from us to drum up their business needs. So we recently caught up with Viren Reshamwala, CEO and founder of MBM. What ensued was an interesting conversation about the growing need for digitization in private and government sectors alike. 
 
Some excerpts from our conversation:
 
Can you tell us a bit about what MBM does? What services do you provide? 
 
Millennium Business Machines Pvt. Ltd. is a professionally managed premier marketing organization focused on promoting advanced technology in Document Imaging, Digital Printing, and Digital Storage space. 
 
We have a combined experience of over 25 years in the Indian IT industry controlling the operation, backed by management with more than 35 years of experience and close association with industry leaders such as Hewlett Packard, Kodak, Canon, Fujitsu, and Epson. 
 
Who are the founders? Can you tell us more about them?
 
I worked for many companies in India and abroad for about a decade or so. Then, I decided to stay back in India and start my own firm. That’s how Millennium was born. I am a first-generation entrepreneur. I started my journey by selling printers and then eventually grew into the digital imaging industry where I felt like we could add more value to our customers. 
 
Since you are in the digital space, has the pandemic affected your business?
 
Like for everyone else, business has definitely slowed down but it hasn’t affected us to a very great extent as we quickly diversified into COVID protection supplies, especially as the customer base was the same. This helped us keep the momentum going. 
 
Your website says that your clients are ‘Clients for life’ - how do you ensure this? What makes a client stay with MBM?
 
This is the core strength that we build on. We at MBM take pride in the fact that our customers are “Customers for Life” in a literal sense. Most of the customers have patronized us for over 10,12 even 20 years! Our business runs on cross-selling and upselling to our existing customers. We do more with our existing customers than acquiring new clients every year. 
 
I always like to say, ‘If the customer is in pain and you don’t have tears in your eyes, then you are not fit for the job!’
 
When did you start seeing success? What was the turning point?
 
This was a very lucrative business from the inception itself. But getting into document imaging was the game-changer for us. 
 
What are the future plans for MBM?
 
I don’t like to look at the future in numbers. The business will grow anyway. As an entrepreneur’s dream, I would like MBM to become self-sufficient and for it to run independently of me. 
 
You have hired flexible talent from FlexiBees, in part-time, remote working arrangements. How has your experience been?
 
We are very happy with the quality and output. The value is very simple - as long as the work is done, we don’t really care where the person is working from. It is a win-win situation for everyone involved. With the current scenario of the pandemic, this is definitely the need of the hour. Currently, we are working with one resource and the experience has been really promising. We are really looking forward to moving into the remote working model and hiring more resources for many more roles.
